Cochrane Renal Group

Ruth Mitchell

Following Ruth's graduation with a BA at Macquarie University in 1974, she had a diverse range of work, including music administration, running patient activity groups in the Renal Unit at Prince Henry Hospital, and PR Assistant at the RAHC. She completed the Graduate Diploma of Library Science at the Ku-ring-gai College of Advanced Education in 1991, and then worked for nine years as Librarian at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney.

She joined the Cochrane Renal Group in August 2000, and is one of its two Trials Search Co-ordinators. She enjoys the wide variety of work - from assisting review authors from all over the world with their search strategies to preparing a regular column for the American Journal of Kidney Diseases.

She completed a Master of Arts, Information at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2004, and is currently working with authors piloting systematic reviews of diagnostic test accuracy studies, and with the Collaboration's Diagnostic Test Working Group in developing a register of diagnostic test accuracy studies.
