Systematic Review Workshops

3-day Workshops scheduled for Sydney for 2012 - Introduction to writing a Cochrane systematic review

When:
Wednesday 4 - Friday 6 July 2012
Wednesday 5 - Friday 7 December 2012
Where: The Children's Hospital at Westmead

These 3-day workshops are designed for new authors starting a Cochrane systematic review. A mixture of presentations and hands-on sessions will give you an overview of all the methods required to write your protocol and get started on the review.

Topics covered will include:

  • scoping your review
  • the process of writing a protocol
  • searching for studies
  • assessing the risk of bias (critical appraisal) of your included studies
  • common data types encountered in systematic reviews
  • using the Review Manager software package

To register for these workshops, authors should have identified the topic for their review and registered the title (or be in the process of registering) with a Cochrane Review Group. Click here for more information about registering a title. This workshop is provided free of charge to Cochrane authors thanks to funding from the Australian Department of Health and Ageing.

Registration for these workshops can be done online at the Australasian Cochrane Centre website: http://acc.cochrane.org/timetable-registration
